STEM Field Trips
STEM field trips at TOP GUN SKATE CENTER
Most field trips end with a bus full of bored kids. This one doesn’t. Every push, every wobble, every spectacular near-fall is physics in motion, whether the kids clock it or not. A session built around force, motion, and energy, and they’ll be having too much fun to notice they’re learning.

Why it works
Skating is physics
they can feel
Here’s the trick: roller skating is a physics lab kids actually want to be in. The second they hit the floor, they’re wrestling with Newton’s Laws, even if nobody’s said the word Newton yet. Why is it so hard to get moving but so easy to keep going? Why does crouching down make you faster? Why can’t you stop on a dime? Questions that put a class to sleep on a whiteboard hit different when a kid feels the answer in their own legs. We’ll help connect it back to what they’re standing on.
The learning
What students actually take away.
A field trip ties real skating to core science ideas, including:
Force & Motion
All three of Newton's laws are in play on every push.
Friction
How the floor, wheels, and weight shape their glide.
Momentum & Inertia
Why stopping is harder than
starting.
Energy
Potential and kinetic energy, traded back and forth every lap.
Balance
Center of gravity and what keeps them
upright.
Speed, Distance, Time
Easy math tie-ins with a
stopwatch.

Let's get your class
on the floor.
Send us your class size, grade level, and a date or two that might work, and we’ll take it from there. We know you need the details in hand before anything gets approved, so reach out and we’ll put together whatever you need for the front office and the permission slips.
We’re right on Grand Ave in Fallon, easy to find for a bus or a caravan of parent drivers.
