If you grew up around Cortland, odds are you’ve got a memory or two from this rink. A birthday party, maybe, or just a Friday night with nothing better to do than skate in circles with your friends. Cortland Roller Rink has been part of that for a long time, and we’re still at it. After a full renovation, the place looks great again, but it’s the same hometown rink it always was. Never skated before? Doesn’t matter. Lace up and come see why people keep coming back.
OUR STORY
Skating in Cortland Since the 1870s
People have been roller skating in Cortland since the 1870s. That’s not a typo. Long before most rinks in this part of Ohio existed, folks here were already lacing up and skating. Cortland Roller Rink opened in 1921 and carried that tradition forward for generations. When the original building on South High Street was lost to fire in the 1970s, the town didn’t let skating disappear. It got rebuilt, and the wheels kept rolling. All these years later, this is still where Cortland and the rest of Trumbull County come to let loose.

Here’s what you’re working with when you skate here:
180 by 80 feet of solid maple. Smooth enough that beginners aren’t fighting it, fast enough that good skaters can really open up.
A serious sound system paired with a full light show that runs the length of the floor every single night.
Live DJs spinning most nights of the week, keeping the energy up and the floor moving from open to close.
A retro arcade and a stocked snack bar right off the floor, so there’s always something to do between sessions.
Skate rentals, quads and inlines, plus trainers on hand for first-timers who need a little extra help finding their balance.
